Trout anglers know the kickoff for trout season is April 16, 2011 for the entire state. Those anglers in the Southeast enjoyed their opening day on April 2, 2011.
Did you know the first fish hatchery in Pennsylvania was located near Marietta in Lancaster County? According to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, it was called the Eastern Station and operated until 1883. The Fish and Boat Commission (plus countless other private organizations) have been stocking Pennsylvania waters in preparation for this year's season.
