Spring Creek

Spring Creek is a limestone spring creek running through
Bellefonte, PA in Centre County. Spring Creek boasts
large browns and great hatches. The Fish & Boat Commission
has conducted surveys and shown that the creek is one
of the most densely populated wild brown trout streams
in Pennsylvania. Excellent fishing can be found from
Houserville through to Bellefonte. Look for exceptional
fishing at Benners Spring.

Spring Creek is a smaller stream--about 15 feet in
width on average. Access is easy along roads that run
parallel to the stream. There are, however, many postings
against trespassing. Also, be ready for no-kill regulations
that apply to the full length of the fishery.
A fly-fishing
only section called "Fisherman's Paradise" is a well-known
section of this stream. It runs for one mile with parking
at the lower boundary of Spring Creek Fish Culture station.
Wading is forbidden in this famous stretch of water.
